Narcotic -Related Crimes and the challenges of prevention and control efforts under Israeli occupation
Abstract
This study aims to shed light on the challenges of prevention and control of narcotics crimes, and the problem of the study is summarized in the main question, which is "What are the challenges of efforts to prevent and combat narcotics crimes under the Israeli occupation?" Widespread narcotics crimes and explain the obstacles and challenges of ways to prevent them
The statistics, reports and indicators indicate a steady increase in the percentage of narcotics crimes in the Palestinian society, and the Israeli occupation is considered one of the most important reasons and factors that lead to the spread and abuse of narcotics in the Palestinian society through various practices that it carries out on the ground, and the Israeli occupation is the main and main obstacle to prevention and control efforts Which is carried out by the Palestinian security services, and the State of Palestine has great efforts in the field of narcotics prevention at the regional and international levels by developing national strategies and plans to preserve the Palestinian society from the scourge of narcotics, as well as by joining international conventions on drug prevention and control
Recommendation to the Palestinian legislator to tighten the punishment for narcotics crimes in all its forms, because of its devastating effect on society. The Palestinian security services are required to work on limiting the methods of the Israeli occupation in spreading and encouraging narcotics use by educating members of society about the dangers of narcotics in partnership with educational institutions. The media, places of worship, families, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Youth, and all public, private and related institutions, the Palestinian National Authority is required to reconsider some of the provisions of the agreements with the Israeli occupation regarding the work of the Palestinian security services, especially the powers of the elements of the Anti- Narcotics Administration. The Palestinian security services are required to develop ways to confront narcotics dealers, as they use modern methods and take advantage of scientific and technological progress in the narcotics trade.
