Review Guidelines

Review Guidelines:

  • To access your review, login to the submission system. You can login using the links on the top-right of the journal's website. If you forgot your password, please click the link in “Forgot your password?”
  • Reviewers are required by COPE guidelines to regard all submissions they are asked to evaluate as confidential. Peer review is secret, therefore without the consent of the editors and writers involved, they cannot disclose the review or any information about it to third parties. This holds true both before and after the publication process.
  • We want reviewers to assess the submission from their own perspective as critical readers of the field's published work in addition to determining if it is appropriate for the journal. We further request that reviews be educational and productive in ways that define quality in terms of inclusivity, equity, and diversity of ideas and methodologies, academics, and contexts from which they all come, even though such judgment is essential to preserving quality.
  • Any recommendation that the author cite reviewers' (or their associates') work must be made for legitimate scientific purposes and not with the goal of boosting reviewers' citation counts or making reviewers' (or their associates') work more visible.
  • You must keep the article and any connected files or data as confidential documents. This means you must not share them or any information about the review with anyone without the editor's prior approval. Because peer review is secret, you must not disclose any review-related information with anybody without the editors' or authors' permission.

Finally, we would want to express our gratitude on behalf of the journal, editors, and author(s) for taking the time to provide helpful feedback on the work.

    Competing Interests:

  • Before you accept or decline an invitation to review, consider the following questions:

    • Does the article match your area of expertise? Only accept if you feel you can provide a high-quality review. Review Form
    • Do you have a potential conflict of interest? Disclose this to the editor when you respond.
    • Do you have time? Reviewing can be a lot of work (at least one hour). Before you commit, make sure you can meet the deadline.
    • Do you need to find out more about reviewing and the peer review process? If so, email the editor at ejhssd.editor@gmail.com

Even if you have to decline, respond to the invitation as soon as you can. If you hesitate to make a decision, the review process will be slowed down and the author will have to wait longer. If you choose not to accept the invitation, it would be beneficial if you could recommend other reviewers.

Reviewers are encouraged to provide the editors with frank, private feedback. The editor is the only person who will see your comments. The author will not be given access to them. Inform the editor of any suspicions you may have about plagiarism, fraud, or other ethical issues, being as specific as you can.
