Published: 2026-04-11

Abstract

Childhood is one of the most important stages in a person's life, as it is the cornerstone in the formation and development of an individual's personality. Children are the nation's wealth and the hope for a healthy and strong society. Therefore, it is our duty as adults to care for and nurture young people, each fulfilling their role and responsibility towards them from their respective positions. The importance of this research lies in highlighting the poetic themes related to childhood in Iraq during the period between 2003 and 2015. It explores this literary genre, which has long suffered from stagnation and neglect by researchers. This research also examines the thematic themes during a contemporary period characterized by the increased freedom of expression in conveying diverse ideas and themes, and the rapid development and openness of society at large. This has led to a reflection of the themes and ideas presented in children's literature. The research reviews the poetic reflections of the late poet, Muhammad Jabbar Hassan, on both spiritual and humanistic aspects.
